After receiving my bachelor's and master's degrees from University of Texas at Austin, I moved to Atlanta to pursue an internship at a long-term psychiatric treatment facility. I gained invaluable experience, and most importantly, a passion for helping adults suffering from mental health issues.
My journey has led me to working at inpatient psychiatric/addiction facilities, community mental health centers, and inner city hospitals providing psychiatric treatment. Using Cognitive-Behavioral, Client-Centered and Solution-Focused Therapy, I build on my clients' strengths and cultivate their inner and external resources to achieve maximum benefit. My passion is working with women's issues, (infertility, postpartum issues, anxiety and mood disorders), trauma, and addictive diseases.
People often describe me as "A warm, tell- it -like- it -is therapist who doesn't just sit there and nod her head during sessions." Because every client and issue is different, I spend every first visit getting to know my clients personally. We then can put our heads together, determine what we can do to improve things and then take this journey together.
